    Call
  • To match a previous bet.

    Call Cold
  • To call a bet and a raise at once.

    Calling Station
  • A player who calls more often than not. This player is hard to bluff, because they will likely call a bet with any hand.

    Cap
  • In limit games, the limit on the number of raises in a round of betting.

    Cash In/Out
  • To leave the game and convert one's chips to cash.

    Chase
  • To stay in against an apparently stronger hand, hoping to improve to the winning hand.

    Check
  • To refrain from being the first to bet in a given round. If a player checks and someone else then bets, the player is given the opportunity to call or raise.

    Check In The Dark
  • To check before looking at the card or cards just dealt.

    Check-Raise
  • To check and then raise a bet.

    Chop
  • If nobody calls the blinds, both blinds can be returned to the players who posted them and move on to the next hand.

    Closed Hand
  • A hand in which all cards are concealed from the opponents.

    Coffee Housing
  • Players will often try to chat with their opponents during a hand in order to pick up reads. This is often used to either decide how to play their own hand or to figure out what their opponent has.

    Cold Call
  • To call a bet and a raise at once.

    Cold Decked
  • To not be dealt any playable hands for a while.

    Color Up
  • To exchange one's chips for chips of higher value, usually to reduce the number of chips one has on the table.

    Come Hand
  • A hand that has not yet been made, requiring one or more cards from the draw to complete it.

    Come Over The Top
  • To raise or reraise an opponent's bet.

    Community Cards
  • In certain games, the cards dealt face up in the center of the table that are shared by all active players.

    Complete Hand
  • A hand that is defined by all five cards - a straight, flush, full house, four of a kind, or straight flush.

    Connectors
  • Consecutive cards which might make a straight. For example, 8-7 are connectors.

    Cooler
  • A hand that beats your very powerful hand. For example, going all-in with a pair of kings and having another player call with aces.

    Counterfeit
  • To make your hand less valuable because of board cards that duplicate it. Example: you have 87 and the flop comes J-T-9, so you have a straight. Now an 8 comes on the turn. This has counterfeited your hand and made it almost worthless.

    Cowboy
  • A King.

    Crack
  • To beat a powerful hand.

    Crying Call
  • A call with a hand you think has a small chance of winning.

    Cut
  • To divide the deck into two sections in such a manner as to change the order of the cards.

    Cut-Card
  • Another term for the bottom card. Sometimes a colored plastic card is used to prevent dealing from the bottom of the deck, as well as from accidentally revealing the bottom card.
