Call- To match a previous bet.
Call Cold- To call a bet and a raise at once.
Calling Station- A player who calls more often than not. This player is hard to bluff, because they will likely call a bet with any hand.
Cap- In limit games, the limit on the number of raises in a round of betting.
Cash In/Out- To leave the game and convert one's chips to cash.
Chase- To stay in against an apparently stronger hand, hoping to improve to the winning hand.
Check- To refrain from being the first to bet in a given round. If a player checks and someone else then bets, the player is given the opportunity to call or raise.
Check In The Dark- To check before looking at the card or cards just dealt.
Check-Raise- To check and then raise a bet.
Chop- If nobody calls the blinds, both blinds can be returned to the players who posted them and move on to the next hand.
Closed Hand- A hand in which all cards are concealed from the opponents.
Coffee Housing- Players will often try to chat with their opponents during a hand in order to pick up reads. This is often used to either decide how to play their own hand or to figure out what their opponent has.
Cold Call- To call a bet and a raise at once.
Cold Decked- To not be dealt any playable hands for a while.
Color Up- To exchange one's chips for chips of higher value, usually to reduce the number of chips one has on the table.
Come Hand- A hand that has not yet been made, requiring one or more cards from the draw to complete it.
Come Over The Top- To raise or reraise an opponent's bet.
Community Cards- In certain games, the cards dealt face up in the center of the table that are shared by all active players.
Complete Hand- A hand that is defined by all five cards - a straight, flush, full house, four of a kind, or straight flush.
Connectors- Consecutive cards which might make a straight. For example, 8-7 are connectors.
Cooler- A hand that beats your very powerful hand. For example, going all-in with a pair of kings and having another player call with aces.
Counterfeit- To make your hand less valuable because of board cards that duplicate it. Example: you have 87 and the flop comes J-T-9, so you have a straight. Now an 8 comes on the turn. This has counterfeited your hand and made it almost worthless.
Crack- To beat a powerful hand.
Crying Call- A call with a hand you think has a small chance of winning.
Cut- To divide the deck into two sections in such a manner as to change the order of the cards.
Cut-Card- Another term for the bottom card. Sometimes a colored plastic card is used to prevent dealing from the bottom of the deck, as well as from accidentally revealing the bottom card.
